New Member
We have a new member! His name is George Brown and he is the manager of Footwear, Etc., located in the Mervyns Shopping Plaza at Stevens Creek
and DeAnza. We were fortunate to have
George and his lovely wife, Rachel join us at
our Installation dinner last Saturday evening.
George was officially inducted into the club by Larry Martinson who presented him with his Kiwanis pin and his apron. Please, everyone, make George feel
welcome and remember to sign his apron
sometime during the next 2 meetings in order
to avoid a fine.

2nd V.P.: Dave McMullen
Secretary: Art Brookman
Treasurer: Richard Arbuckle
Board of Directors:
Dale Burklund Dave Gragnola

Nick Slavich
This Week's Speaker
We were pleased to have with us this past Tuesday Dr. Nicholas Szabo, former Cupertino City Council member and mayor who shared with us his experiences as a member of the Santa Clara County Grand Jury. A very enlightening, informative talk to say the least.
President's Pledge
Our new President, Doug Larson, in his acceptance speech pledged to get the new membership machine started up and get results. He hopes that each member will bring at least 1 prospective member to a meeting this next year.
Kiwanian of the Year
Congratulations to Fenton Hill who won the award this year. I'm certain everyone would agree that Fenton did a bang-up job as an active member again this past year and was definitely deserving of this honor. He joins Ray Crump and the late Al Carter as a two-time recipient of this prestigious award. But, Fenton is not the only member of the Hill family to be recognized that evening. His better half, Winkie was presented with a dozen roses as a small token of the clubs appreciation for all the work she has done during the past many years.
