Speaker
Today's program was presented by
Don Wolfe, former Mayor of Saratoga,
on the topic of lawsuit abuse. Some
interesting facts he shared were that
the girl scouts have to sell 20,450
boxes of cookies each year just to pay
for the cost of their lawsuit protection;
it costs every person $832 per year
to cover other people's lawsuits; in the
San Jose phone book there are 4 pages of ads for accountants, 8 pages of engineers, 45 pages of physicians and 126 pages of lawyers!
Miscellanous Happenings
Art received his 10-year pin.
Richard handed out the bills for lunches for the next three months. If you were not at the meeting, not to worry, yours will be mailed to you. Please pay ASAP.
Joker - Joker
Congrats to Fenton, who won $3.
Interim President Chosen
Most of you are probably aware that Anne has left the club. This has resulted in the need for someone to take over as President for the remainder of her term. Art has graciously agreed to perform the duties of President in addition to his job as club secretary.
Have You Heard The One About...................?????
A housewife, an accountant and a lawyer were asked "How much is 2+2?"
The housewife replies: "Four!".
The accountant says: "I think it's either 3 or 4. Let me run those figures through my spreadsheet one more time."
The lawyer pulls the drapes, dims the lights and asks in a hushed voice, "How much do you want it to be?"
