Guests

Elizabeth Wong from Homestead High School and Doc were our honored guests today.

Interclub Update

We had an interclub this week with the San Carlos group.  In attendance were Dave G., Doug and Art.

Celebrations

A big congrats to Jim who celebrated his birthday on Tuesday.  He requested everyone but Dave M. salute
him in song.  Dave decided to ignore that request and sang along anyway.  He was fined $1 for doing so.

Happy/Sad Dollars

Art contributed 2 happy dollars for the A's.

Richard happily dropped in $2 bucks because he had two paying photo gigs over the weekend.

Doug, happy about a recent trip to Cape Cod where his in-laws reside, put in a dollar.  He was lucky enough, while there, to get 2 tickets to the NY/Boston game at Fenway.

Dave added a sad dollar because he didn't get into a golf tournament that he usaully makes it in to.

Kristin had a sad dollar for her daughter who had 4 wisdom teeth pulled.

Dale put in a sad dollar for Stanford.

Board Stuff

Art shared with the group the Board's decision to support Lawson Middle School by presenting to one outstanding student a Cupertino Kiwanis Service award.  The award will consist of a perpetual plaque engraved with the winning students name and $100 cash.  The criteria for this award was set by a committee consisting of Dale, Chuck and Ray, but the decision as to which student will receive the honor will be made by the schools principal.

Joker-Joker

Nick was delighted to walk away with $2 in this afternoons Joker-Joker draw.

All Around The Town

Jim confesssed to trips to Mesquite, Nevada for a combination of golf and fishing, the McKenzie River in Oregon for fishing and to British Columbia for........repeat after me.........fishing.  His fine was a piddly $9.

Have You Heard The One About...........??????

Once upon a time a lion, a tiger and a bear were sitting on a hill and they were hungry!  Below them, three men walked by; a Frenchman, an Italian gent and a Czech. The lion said "I haven't had French food in a while," and he ran off and ate the Frenchman. The tiger said, "I'm hungry for some Italian food," so he jaunted off and ate the Italian. The bear looked at the sole remaining man and said "I guess it's my turn to spring for the Czech."
