Happy/Sad Dollars
Mike Eneboe paid a happy $20 to be back with us for an afternoon.
Don and Nick both put in happy dollars because Mike was there.
Ray paid a happy dollar in honor of the Beavers.
The Old Fine Pot
Dave G. won $160 in a Super Bowl pool; he paid a $5 fine.
Some other folks also won money in pools, but Richard's pen ran out of ink and he missed who, what and when.
Brian's apron was the topic during fine-time and 2 members who had neglected to sign it were assessed. Having to fork over $3 a piece were Ray and Benny.
Interclub
Dale is putting together an interclub on Feb. 23rd (noon). Please call him if you want to attend.
So Many Thrills You'll Have Chills
Don't forget to buy your ticket for the fundraising event sponsored by Six Flags Marine World in Vallejo. Marine World is more than an animal adventure; it's a theme park with rides galore to thrill the very young as well as the, shall I say, not-so-young.
As a reminder, the tickets are valid on March 12th and 13th. The regular ticket price is $47.99, but for those two days only we are able to purchase them for $19.99 AND the club keeps $5 from every ticket sold. Additionally, there are prizes for those groups who sell the most, so get out there and sell, sell, sell!
Speaker
Green Pastures is a state-licensed, non-profit Christian group home where six disabled children, aged 6-18, live on a long-term basis. Families with disabled children sometimes find themselves unable to meet the child's needs, and must place the child in a residential facility. Sometimes, given the necessary support, these children have been able to return to their families. Their four-bedroom home is located in Mountain View, and their 'family' is fully included as one of the families on their friendly, kid-focused cul-de-sac.
In addition to the 6 children they parent full-time, Green Pastures provides short-term care for children who live at home giving the parents a much needed break.
Their primary goal is to provide a small, family-like environment for disabled children where they are loved and challenged to develop their full God-given potential physically, intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually. Other goals include: providing assistance to families with disabled children in the community so that they can continue to care for their children in their own homes; to provide an understanding of the disabled, and to understand God's view of disability throughout the community and in the local churches.

Have You Heard The One About.......???
A life-long city man, tired of the rat race, decided he was going to give up the city life, move to the country, and become a chicken farmer. He bought a nice, used chicken farm and moved in. As it turned out, his next door neighbor was also a chicken farmer. The neighbor came for a visit one day and said, "Chicken farming isn't easy. Tell you what. To help you get started, I'll give you 100 chickens."
The new chicken farmer was thrilled. Two weeks later the neighbor dropped by to see how things were going. The new farmer said, "Not too well. All 100 chickens died."
The neighbor said, "Oh, I can't believe that. I've never had any trouble with my chickens. I'll give you 100 more." Another two weeks went by and the neighbor stopped by again. The new farmer said, "You're not going to believe this, but the second 100 chickens died too."
Astounded, the neighbor asked, "What went wrong?"
The new farmer said, "Well, I'm not sure whether I'm planting them too deep or too close together."
