Speaker

Debra Mann, founder of Visiting Video, got her Masters in Social Work at N.Y.U.  She is a native New Yorker who has been living in the Bay Area for over 20 years.

"I recently visited my mother-in-law", Debbie says, "and listened to her many fascinating stories. I realized how important it is for these memories to be shared with my own child, nieces and nephews. Visiting Video was created to capture your memories to be sure the next generation will know what life was like before computers."

And so, Visiting Video was born.  Now you can create a permanent record for your family by capturing YOUR stories on video.  Create a family history by piecing together the patchwork of stories told from one generation to another.  Visiting Video will tape you for 45 minutes and then create a permanent record on DVD for you and your family to enjoy.

Many thanks to Debbie for her kind donation of 1 free video to be used in our golf tournament auction.

Have You Heard The One About.......???

A wealthy man decides to go on a safari in Africa. He takes his faithful pet duck along for company. One day, the duck starts chasing butterflies and before long discovers that he's lost. Wandering about, he notices a leopard heading rapidly in his direction with the obvious intention of having lunch. The duck thinks, "Ok, I'm in deep trouble now!"

He notices some bones on the ground close by, and immediately settles down to chew on them with his back to the approaching cat. Just as the leopard is about to leap, the duck exclaims loudly, "Boy, that was one delicious leopard. I wonder if there are any more around here?"

Hearing this, the leopard halts his attack in mid-stride.  A look of terror comes over him and he slinks away into the trees. "Whew," says the leopard. "That was close. That duck nearly had me."

Meanwhile, a monkey who had been watching the whole scene from a nearby tree figures he can put this knowledge to good use and trade it for protection from the leopard. But the duck sees him heading after the leopard with great speed, and figures that something must be up.

The monkey soon catches up with the leopard, spills the beans and strikes a deal for himself.  The leopard is furious at being made a fool of and says, "Here monkey, hop on my back and see what's going to happen to that conniving quacker."

The duck sees the leopard coming with the monkey on his back, and thinks, "What am I going to do now?"  But instead of running, he sits down with his back to his attacker, pretending he hasn't seen them yet... and just when they get close enough to hear, the duck says, "Where's that monkey?  I sent him off half an hour ago to bring me another leopard.

A Special Program Is Coming

I have booked a program that I believe will be most interesting and I encourage you to invite friends and associates to come that day to hear what our speaker has to say.

His name is Eric Drew and his remarkable story is being featured on ABC's Dateline at the end of April.  But, if you want to hear it live and in person, all you have to do is come to lunch on April 5th.  By way of introduction, Drew's story is one of survival against one of life's greatest challenges - cancer.  But his struggle doesn't end there.  During his long-fought battle with this horrific disease, he faced another, equally nightmarish challenge.  A medical worker who thought to himself, "Hey the guy's gonna die, here's my chance to get a bunch of cool stuff for free."  proceeded to steal Eric's identity.

Hear not only how Eric fought the cancer that was quietly, but deliberately stealing his life and how he took it back, but about the system that offered him no help and left him no alternative but to take his life back himself for the second time.
