Happy/Sad Dollars

Kristin paid a happy dollar for 4 days at science camp in Marin County.

Dave G. paid a happy dollar because he went to the AT&T tour in Pebble Beach.  He added that he and his partner will be playing in a tournament at Spyglass.  He also dropped in a buck for his daughter's soccer team.

Art was happy to add a dollar to the pot for his grandson's hockey team.

Clark had 3 happy dollars; one for each of two friends who are out of the hospital and doing well, and one for  his cousin who is coming from Norway to visit.

Richard tossed in a happy buck because he and Ginnie went to the SF zoo and didn't get eaten.

Dale was happy to be able to get out of the house for the first time since a bout of bad weather and plunked down a dollar to prove it.

Doug had a very happy super bowl dollar and another because a favorite neice is visiting .

The only sad dollar this month came from Dave G. because his basketball team lost a game.

Have You Heard The One About?

One day a man went to an auction. While there, he bid on a parrot. He really wanted this bird, so he got caught up in the bidding. He kept on bidding, but kept getting outbid, so he bid higher and higher and higher. Finally, after he bid way more than he intended, he won the bid - the parrot was his at last! As he was paying for the parrot, he said to the Auctioneer,

"I sure hope this parrot can talk. I would hate to have paid this much for it, only to find out that he can't say a word!"

"Don't worry." said the Auctioneer, "He can talk. Who do you think kept bidding against you?"
