Happy/Sad Dollars

Art was happy that he scored 6 tickets to the recent Barbra Streisand concert.  He was also happy that he's going home to Michigan for Thanksgiving.  As posessor of the fine-free badge, he didn't have to pay for either

Dave G. had 2 happy dollars; one for the soccer team he coaches entering the league championships undefeated and winning it and the other for his daughters volleyball team winning 2 games in a row.

Doug was thrilled to put in a dollar for the A's move to the Southbay.
He added an additional dollar to announce he was able to see the final performance of "The King and I" where he got to see the son of a friend play the lead child.  He added that he was pleasantly surprised by Debbie Boone.

Dave M. put in a sad dollar because Cal lost and then Dale tossed in a happy buck because Stanford won.

Sad dollar not reported - Richard will owe $1 to the fine pot next week for forgetting to report that on Saturday, as I was waving goodbye to the carpet cleaning crew as they pulled away from the house after having done a splendid job throughout, I turned just in time to see him drop a bowl of chili and a soda on the living room carpet.  His valient effort to erradicate the dark red stain, while steadfastly refusing to make eye contact with me, proved fairly successful although not completely so.  I'm currently scouring the area for a newt; I hear they're yummy seasoned with just a touch of ginger.

Speaker

Today's program was presented by Suzanne
Mulcahey who shared some information about the
Youth Science Center.  Over 25,000 kids a year
utilize the program with 5,000 of those coming
from Cupertino.  The most interesting thing Richard learned was that if you eat a newt, there is absolutely, positively, NOTHING that can be done to save your life.

Board Actions

It was decided at last weeks BOD meeting to raise the quarterly price of lunch from $115 to $130 and the individual price from $15 to $18.

Speakers Needed

Hal is now in charge of speakers and he is requesting assistance.  If you know of anyone who would be interested in presenting a program please let him know.

Joker-Joker

Elsie trotted away with $10 after being victorius in this weeks draw.
