Speaker

Thank you to our very own Dale who stepped up as speaker today and shared a little more American history with the group.

Guests

In addition to Elsie's sister, we had 3 members from the Bayshore club joining us this afternoon.

Happy Birthday

To Hal.  He requested
a group sing and the
group was happy to oblige.

Board Meeting News

Art went over the discussions from last weeks BOD meeting.  He shared that we received a nice thank you letter from the Cupertino Senior Center and mentioned that in addition to our members who attended, that we had help from approximately 22 key club members without whom we really couldn't pull this thing off.  He talked about the Kiwanis Family House in Sacramento and suggested we make an annual contribution to them.  Whether lunches should continue to be paid for on a quarterly basis was discussed and, lastly, it was decided that the "rules" of Joker-Joker will be revised.  New games will start at $100 and the cap will be $500.  If a guest should happen to draw the jackpot Joker, he/she will receive only $30.  The current game is going to be capped at $750.

Golf Tournament

Dave G. announced that he would like to see more prizes, but most importantly, we need golfers and we need those who have signed up to play to pay.

Happy/Sad Dollars

Fenton was happy a dollars worth that his granddaughter and her family are leaving his house this week.

Dave G. added a buck because he won his tournament at Saratoga Country Club and is moving on to the semi-finals where he will go toe-to-toe with his arch rival.

Three of our guests were happy to toss a dollar each into the pot.  One because his daughter and son-in-law are traveling to Belgium so he gets to baby-sit the grandkids.  One was happy that they were able to put together this threesome and be with us for our meeting.  And still another was happy because it was such a beautiful day and her granddaughter turned 16.

Dale put in a sad $5 because he missed the board meeting.

Lastly, Art put in a sad dollar because he felt guilty that he didn't remind Dale about the board meeting.

This 'n That

Dave M. was fined $3 for insulting the President.

Art announced that at next week's meeting the Lt. Gov. will be in attendance to present Dave G. with a distinguished President's award.

Joker-Joker

A guest won today and carted off $6.

Things You Don't Want To Hear In The OR

Better save that; we'll need it for the autopsy.

Wait a minute, if this is his spleen, then what's that?

Oh no! I just lost my Rolex.

Oops! Hey, has anyone ever survived 500 ml. of this stuff?

There go the lights again!

Ya' know ... there's big money in kidneys ... and this guy's got two of 'em.

Everybody stand back! I lost my contact lens!

Travis! Bad dog! Come back with that!

What's this doing here?

That's cool! Now can you make his leg twitch?

This patient has already had some kids, am I correct?

Don't worry. I think it's sharp enough.
