Speaker

Our good friend, Dennis Whitaker, joined us again today as speaker on the topic of his experiences during the Vietnam war.

Sr.Luncheon This Saturday

Everyone, please be at the Senior
Center between 8:00 - 8:30am. on
Saturday and prepared to get dirty.
The good news is that there will be 18 or so Key Club members there to assist with the prep, serving and cleanup.

Receiving Thanks

We got thanks you letters from two organizations to which we have recently made monetary donations; Kiwanis International Foundation and the singing group, The Choraliers.

Who Will Be Our Kiwanian Of the Year 2005/2006?????

The vote will take place next Tuesday, so be prepared to write down the name of the one individual (keeping in mind that the Prez is ineligible) you think has added the most value to the club during the past 12 months.

Golf Tournment

Dave G. announced that he expects
each member to buy/sell at least 50
raffle tickets so get your
checkbooks ready.

Happy/Sad Dollars

Richard was happy a dollars worth to have sold some of the pictures he took this past weeked.

Kris had a happy and sad dollar for her tearful daughter who couldn't get the car started at DMV when taking her driving test.  Apparently if you can't even start the car you fail the test.  Go figure.   The good news is she can try again in 2 weeks.

Doug paid a sad dollar because at a recent visit to a local eatery he forgot to ask the manager for a raffle prize (as all members have been instructed to do.)

Nick was happy to have attended a BBQ at his sons house.

Fenton was both happy and sad that his granddaughter and her husband are moving in with
he and Winkie for the next month.  Didn't he finally just clear out all his family after a summer of one relative after another?

Chuck dropped in a sad dollar for the poorly performing Cal football team.

Doug was sad a bucks worth that when recently shopping for a new memory card for his digital camera the store had none so he ended up buying a new camera instead.  Not totally upset by that, the sad really kicks in upon his discovery that the instruction manual is 180 pages and all in English!

Fine-Free Badge

Dave was able to get into his car and retreive (and return) the fine-free badge that should have been in the possesion of Doug.  It was auctioned off again today and the winner, with a high bid of 15 was Doug.  It was mentioned that perhaps he should be made to sign a receipt or leave a deposit for it this time around.  That didn't happen, but he did add an extra buck to the pot by way of apology for being so careless with it.

Joker-Joker

Congrats to Art who drew a card worth a big $10.

Did You Ever Consider That.....????

People who live in glass houses should make love in the basement.
You should never read the fine print. There's no way you're going to like it.
If you let a smile be your umbrella your butt will get soaking wet.
To err is human, to forgive is highly unlikely.
In a few years, thousands of old ladies will be running around with tattoos?
Money can't buy happiness, but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a Porsche than in a Hyundai.
After a certain age, if you don't wake up aching in every joint, you're probably dead.

Just For Fun.......Can You Guess What These Are Supposed To Be? (Part I)
The first one's pretty simple; the others may be slightly more difficult. (answers next week)
