Speaker
Thanks to Dave G. for arranging for today's speaker, Christine Giusiana, newly appointed President of the Chamber of Commerce (who apparently thought she was just a guest and wasn't aware she was suppose to speak). She did, however, get up and share some personal background and a little about what the Chamber is doing. In particular, she talked about the upcoming Cupertino Golden Jubilee, which celebrates the City's 50th anniversary. The Jubilee is being held on Sept. 24th and 25th and, this year, is in lieu of Oktoberfest and the annual Wine & Arts Festival.
Guests
Doc visited again today and we were happy to have him, as always.
Kiwanis Day at Marine World
This past weekend was KDAMW. The fund-raising event wasn't a big money maker, but we thank Clark who sold 4 tickets and Richard who sold 14. That gives the club $100 for its coffers.
Happy Anniversary
To Don & Elsie on their 61st wedding anniversary this coming Saturday. To celebrate the momentous occasion, Elsie brought a cake for the group to enjoy.
Board News
At last weeks board meeting it was decided that: the club will give $175 to the Good Time Singers, a community singing group and that we will donate another 50 Kiwanis bears (in honor of our 50th anniversary) to the Sheriff's Dept. for their Kids in Crisis program.

Dale is putting together an interclub with San Carlos for March 21st. Please contact him if you would like to go.
Have You Heard The One About.......???
Two bees buzz around what's left of a rose bush. "How was
your summer?" Bee #1 asks.
"Not too good," says Bee #2. "Lotta rain, lotta cold. Not enough flowers, not enough pollen."
The first bee has an idea. "Hey, why don't you go down to
the corner and hang a left? There's a bar mitzvah going on. Plenty of flowers and fruit."
Bee #2 buzzes, "Thanks!" and takes off. An hour later, the bees bump into each other again. "How was the bar mitzvah?" asks Bee #1.
"Great!" says Bee #2.
The first bee peers at his pal and wonders, "What's that on your head?"
"A yarmulke," is the answer. "I didn't want them to think I was a wasp."

Special Program Alert
I have booked a program that I believe will be most interesting and I encourage you to invite friends and associates to come that day to hear what our speaker has to say.
His name is Eric Drew and his remarkable story is being featured on ABC's Dateline at the end of April. But, if you want to hear it live and in person, all you have to do is come to lunch on April 5th. By way of introduction, Drew's story is one of survival against one of life's greatest challenges - cancer. But his struggle doesn't end there. During his long-fought battle with this horrific disease, he faced another, equally nightmarish challenge. A medical worker who thought to himself, "Hey the guy's gonna die, here's my chance to get a bunch of cool stuff for free" proceeded to steal Eric's identity.
Hear not only how Eric fought the cancer that was quietly, but deliberately stealing his life and how he took it back, but also about the system that offered him no help and left him no alternative but to take charge and claim his life back by himself a second time.
Happy/Sad Dollars
Dale paid a happy dollar because he was pleased that at last weekends library event he was able to remember his numbers and his ABC's.
Dave G. added a happy dollar because his girl's softball team has won 5 games in a row.
Clark was happy and sad. Happy because he went to Marine World on Sunday and had a great time. Sad because they spent a small fortune on food and went home hungry.
Brian was sad to report he hurt his knee playing tennis and will require some minor surgery to correct it. He must have known something like this was going to happen hence his purchase of the fine-free badge at last week's meeting.
Doug was sad a dollars worth that he wasn't able to be with us last week because he was sick with the "Santa Clara flu??"
Kristin dropped in a dollar to say she was sad about missing Total K Day, but she had to play the "mommy role" and schlep kids around to various sporting events.
50th Anniversary Celebration
The date has been set for the party. It is April 16th and is at the Blue Pheasant. 6:00 pm. cocktails; 7:00pm dinner.
Total K Day
Last Saturday was Total K Day. This year's project for our club was at the Cupertino Library. In attendance were: Richard, Art, Margaret, Ann, Dale, Ray and one Keyclub member. Thanks to all of our volunteers who helped make the day a success.
